Local Action Groups in Catalonia
For the application of the Leader methodology in the period 2007-2013, a total of 13 Local Action Groups (shortened to the acronym GAL in Catalan) have been selected in Catalonia, with their respective local strategies, and which represent 66% of the territory of Catalonia, with 8% of the total population, 51.8% of Catalonian municipalities and an average density in the Leader zone of 27 inhabitants per square kilometer.
