Law 45/2007 of 13 December, the Sustainable Development of Rural Areas.
Until now, rural Spanish policy was based primarily on European policies on rural development, agriculture and infrastructure. For this reason, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) was created and launched the Law 45/2007, by establishing the foundations of a country's own policy to complement the implementation of instruments of European policy.
By this standard is intended to promote development in rural areas and, primarily, those who suffer a greater degree of delay, improving the socioeconomic status of the population in rural areas, and access to adequate public services and quality.
The Sustainable Rural Development Programme (PDRS) is the instrument base from which they will practice this new rural policy.This program defines the strategy and objectives of rural development, rural areas where applied, and sustainable rural development measures will be implemented. Each Autonomous Community has adapted this program to your specifications and needs.
In this sense, the new rural development model aims to support the new economy based on rural diversification and the multisectorialitat generating economic revitalization projects, developing structures that promote cooperation and create synergies with projects LEADER , invest in infrastructure aimed at improving the quality of life and promote environmental integration in all actions to be developed.
Forecasts Programme, Catalonia has a budget of 141.9 M € for the period 2010-2014 for the implementation of the planned action.
